GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position Purpose

The Legal Counsel assists senior members of the Legal Department in day-to-day activities related to healthcare contract drafting and administration, as well as the handling of general corporate matters. Additionally, this role assists senior members of the Legal Department with all legal matters related to the operation of the organization.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Provide advice and support to business counterparts on a variety of legal issues relating to operations and transactions.
  • Identify and assist in resolving issues related to compliance with Stark Law, Anti-kickback Statute, and other fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, and any other regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, negotiate and maintain various agreements and forms, including healthcare and corporate documents, real estate leases, employment agreements and documents related to clinical research.
  • Manage and maintain contract management databases.
  • Prepare documents required by regulatory bodies and government agencies.
  • Prepare and track various business filings.
  • Assist with corporate governance and maintenance of corporate records.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education: JD degree from an ASA-accredited institution.

Experience: Three (3) plus years of experience in health care law, with some experience in real estate preferred.  Working knowledge of healthcare regulations is required. This includes experience in healthcare related drafting and transactional matters.

Required Licensure/Certification: Member of Texas State Bar or member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas or another state or District of Columbia.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
