We are looking for a dedicated coach and Christ follower to be the Middle School Tennis Assistant Coach for the 2024-2025 school year. TCA’s Athletic Department utilizes sports and competition to teach transformational, life-giving biblical truths to each student-athlete. As an assistant coach you will not only help student athletes improve their football skills, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ. This position will be from February 2025 - April 2025.
General Responsibilities
- Plan warm-up, conditioning and tennis drills for practice
- Document and help plan weekly Biblical character lessons (Mark 12:30)
- Instruct skills necessary for playing tennis at a MS competitive level
- Attend all MS tennis matches and practices
- When necessary, assist with tennis tryouts for Middle School tennis teams
- Manage miscellaneous items
- Ability to motivate and improve performance of athletes
Qualifications
- A strong commitment to the positive development of the tennis program at TCA
- Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of athletes pointing them to Christ
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with middle school athletes in tennis
- Knowledge of the sport of tennis
- Ability to build a good rapport with student and parents
- Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, jump and run
- Normal physical demands of coaching
- Night hours required
