TCA is one of the largest, single-campus, preK-12 schools in the country, serving over 1,400 students on a 40+ acre campus. The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks to ensure that the facility remains in optimal working condition. This role includes maintaining equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, addressing any mechanical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
General Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical problems
- General facility upkeep, including interior and exterior building maintenance
- Carpentry skills for minor repairs or installations with potential use of electrical saws
- Experience in minor concrete patch repair
- Repair/Replacement of broken pipes and fixtures
- Identifying and fixing leaks, using motorized drain snake to clear blockages
- Replacing broken receptacles, light switches, and ballast
- Understanding of electrical safety codes and practices
- Replace HVAC air filters and belts
- Ability to perform minor construction tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and flooring
- Assist in the coordination and oversight of contractor services and outsourced maintenance projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including completed repairs and scheduled maintenance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from other departments and stakeholders
- Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to develop and implement maintenance procedures and schedules
- Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with colleagues and others
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or certification is a plus
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of facilities/maintenance work (including, but not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, and crouching, kneeling and crawling)
- Working both indoors and outdoors
- Use of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
- Ability to move across campus on uneven terrain from building to building, and navigate stairs as necessary without elevator access
- Ability to climb a ladder and balance on a ladder
- Lift up to 50 pounds during the course of work
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues asking and answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
- Willing to partner with parents to provide an exceptional education academically, spiritually and socially; committed to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God
