We are looking for someone to teach Middle School 8th Grade Spanish. At TCA we integrate faith and learning because we believe God created us in His image to be lovers and learners of Him, of our neighbors and all of creation. You will prepare students to communicate across cultural boundaries through listening, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and study of culture. This position is for the 2025-26 school year.
General Responsibilities
- Full-time teaching load
- Grade and record all applicable assignments
- Ability to build a good rapport with students
- Minister to students through quality instruction with a biblical foundation
- Implement provided curriculum, collaborating with other team members
- Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills taught on a regular basis
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents
- Attend/participate in Mini-School Night and other school events scheduled by Administration
- Participate in professional development
- Participate in scheduled department meetings
- Fulfill any assigned supervisory duties
- Prepare report cards on trimester schedule and post grades weekly
- Maintain accurate records on each student
- Discipline with love and enforce established conduct policy
- Demonstrate Christian values and principals through interactions with students, parents and colleagues
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Spanish or BS in Secondary Education degree with a Spanish emphasis
- Advanced degree preferred, but not required
- Experience in teaching high school students Spanish is preferred but not required
- Must be bi-lingual in Spanish
- Ability to effectively interact with students, parents and employees
- Demonstrated ability in creating a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal; able to effectively communicate with large and small groups of students, colleagues and parents
- Strong critical thinking skills, ability to problem solve, quick learner and intentional relationship builder
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative
- Must be highly detailed, organized and structured in approach to executing duties
- Must possess a unique sense for excellence in all areas
- Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)
- Agree with and support TCA’s Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner.
- Willing to partner with parents to provide an exceptional education academically, spiritually and socially; committed to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God
