  • Has a passion for their areas of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents

Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate Christ-following teacher to inspire and educate Middle School students in our STEM classes. Our ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and compassion through innovative and engaging instructional methods. As a community, TCA is committed to pursuing God's truth in a digital culture. TCA strives to integrate technology into all areas of the curriculum and to balance that technology with what is appropriate for students at each grade level. As a Middle School STEM teacher, you will challenge students to deepen their digital discernment and work collaboratively to sharpen their ability to use technology to complete cross-curricular projects utilizing Apple iPads, Microsoft applications, various apps, websites and STEM tools. This position is for the 2025-26 school year.

General Responsibilities

  • Teach fifth and sixth-grade STEM classes as well as a fifth-grade science class.
  • Utilize and incorporate various educational instruction methods to facilitate learning and engage students effectively to meet the classroom academic goals.
  • Utilize current technology to enhance learning, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Establish clear learning objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicate these objectives to students
  • Work directly with the Middle School administration and Chief Innovation Officer in developing, implementing, and evaluating STEM initiatives and curriculum for Middle School.
  • Collaborate with Middle School teachers on cross-curricular projects.
  • Attend professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
  • Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with colleagues and others.

Required Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and/or Science and/or STEM preferred, or related field
  • 3-5 years experience teaching STEM to Middle School age students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively
  • Ability to apply science and/or math content knowledge, formative assessment, and technology integration at an age-appropriate level
  • Experience with Apple iPads and Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, OneNote, and Teams
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers regarding student learning.
  • Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)
  • Agree with and support TCA’s Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

  • Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
  • Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
